Morning Beautifuls,
Here’s to another strange but really delicious recipe!
Donut muffins! Because to day is Doughnut Day!!!! 🍩🍩
I saw pictures of these delicious looking treats floating around the Internet the other day and realised I was extremely desperate to have them in my life! Surprisingly, they are one of the most simple recipes to follow and taste like mini donuts. Yum, yum, yum.
What you need (for the cupcakes):
- 1 cup self-raising flour
- 1/2 cup caster sugar
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup milk
The cupcakes are extremely simple to make (something I love)! Mix the melted butter and sugar together until combined. Stir in milk and baking powder. Then add flour and mix until just combined. Fill into mini muffin patty cases and bake for 15-20mins in 190degC oven. Simple!
What you need (for the delicious sugar coating):
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup melted butter
Whilst they are cooking, in the last few minutes (or when you just get them out), you get to prepared the DELICIOUS sugar coating. Again, super simple – combine melted butter with sugar and cinnamon and mix well.
if you haven’t already, let the muffins sit for a few minutes. This allows them to cool slightly and makes them easier to remove from their cases, keeping their awesome round muffin shape. Once they are cool enough to hold their form but still slightly warm, take them out of their cases and roll them in the butter followed quickly by the cinnamon sugar. Pup them back in their cases and onto a plate!
Easy peasy!
Then enjoy them either warm or cold!
Keep smiling,
